Method

  1. Grab a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. This will help to chill the ingredients and ensure that the finished drink is refreshing and crisp.

  2. Measure and pour 30ml of Tanqueray Gin into the shaker. This gin is known for its bold, juniper-forward flavour profile, which makes it the perfect base for this cocktail.

  3. Add 20ml of freshly squeezed lime juice to the shaker, along with 20ml of simple syrup for sweetness.

  4. Close the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until the contents are well chilled and well combined. Using a cocktail strainer, strain the mixture into a chilled champagne flute. The strainer will help to catch any small bits of ice or pulp that might be left in the shaker, giving you a smooth, refined drink.

  5. Top up the drink with sparkling wine, filling the flute almost to the top. The effervescence of the wine will add a lightness and bubbly texture to the drink.

  6. Take a lemon peel and twist it over the drink to release its oils, then garnish the drink with the peel. This will give the drink a bright, citrusy aroma and a pop of colour.
