Whisky and Trends

If you are whisky fan, you will already know that there are plenty of trends for you to follow every year. Whisky as a spirit has endless possibilities when it comes to how they can be worked on whether be it in the form of cocktails or otherwise. Almost every year, there are new ways in which whisky lovers can relish their favorite spirit. With the growing demand of whiskies, the production has also subsequently increased. Let’s look at some of the trends that are up and coming when it comes to whiskies this year -

Cask strength Whiskies

Cask strength Whiskies - These whiskies refer to the undiluted whiskies. They are taken straight from the cask they were aged in and then bottled. Owing to this process, the alcohol content in these whiskies is through the roof and might not be allowed in a lot of countries. However, a lot of premium brands are embracing it and bottling their whiskies at cask strength. While this does give whiskies a strong taste and odor, it helps relish the raw flavor of the casked whisky.

Expanding scopes

Expanding scopes - For decades now, countries that produced whisky remained a little restricted to regions like Scotland, Ireland, etc. However, with the growing demand for whiskies around the world, the manufacturing regions have also expanded. While there was a belief that quality whiskies were only produced in the regions that historically made whiskies for decades, that belief is slowly fading with more and more quality whiskies coming out of countries that were not typically known for manufacturing whiskies. With globalization and expanding horizons when it comes to the market, expect more and more whisky companies to emerge with a great version of whisky of their own.

Flavours

Exotic flavor combos - Experimenting is the new chic! Whiskies like every other spirit, have come up with more experimental flavors. They are being catered to an array of whisky lovers who are not afraid to experiment beyond just the confines of the classic whisky. There is also a significant rise in blended whisky. They are also plenty of whisky cocktails and drinks with whisky as the base spirits that are emerging popularly
